NOTE: I recieved information for one of the leading experts on the life Ka`iulani, Mindi Reid, regarding the hem of Ka`iulani's dress. Please see the picture below. There are 3 dark bands and a lace bottom. Because of this I am discontinuing this figure as soon as the ones I've already created or sold. To speed up the process, I am selling the unpainted pieces without the hat. I have also learned that the hat is incorrect having had the luck to come across a similiar hat in an antique shop.

She was born Victoria Kawekiu Lunalilo Kalaninuiahilapalapa Ka`iulani Cleghorn October 16, 1875 to Archibald Cleghorn of Edinburgh Scotland and Princess Likelike descendant of the Ali'i Nui (High Chief) Kepo`okalani.
She was named heir to the throne of Hawai`i by her Aunt Queen Liliuokalani upon her ascention to the throne following King David Kalakaua's death in 1893. She died shortly after the annexation of Hawai`i by the United States in 1897 at the age of 23 fullfilling her mothers prediction that she would never take the throne.
