The last update to this page was Aug 28, 2008

All figures are made in the U.S.A.

Your reading this because, you are interested in Commissioning work.
Some quick info:
  • Commission is based on the number of unique figures you want
  • They begin at $10,000 with $5,000 retainer to begin work
  • You retain copyright to your figure, I keep the master on hand
  • You get a total of 10 figures provided those figures are no larger than 1:18 scale, two the the ten are custom painted in 2 different paint schemes that we agree on.
  • I do not do figures smaller than 1:22 scale
  • The conditions above as well as the pricing are different for sculptures larger than 7/8ths scale

Some folks have asked me how much I would charge to sculpt a scale figure of them or them and a member of their family. It took me a year to figure out the pricing above and it is based on the amount of research plus the sketches, sculpting and mold making I have to do to create a convincing likeness of someone.

Here is how it works:

  • You contact me through my the email address provided on my order form. I won't put it here because too many spammers scan pages looking for email addresses and no amount of encoding can stop them.

You won't need to complete the order just go to the point where the invoice is displayed and you will find my email address.

  • Email with your name, address and phone number and a short discription of the work you would like to commission. You should include at least one clear hi resolution image of the subject matter for me to study before responding.
  • When I respond, I will send you my phone number and my response will include an estimated timeline.
NOTE: The timeline can change significantly depending on your availablity or the subjects availabilty for sittings and studies.
  • Once I have agreed to take your commissioned work, you will send me a money order for 1/2 of the final cost of the project. This amount is not refundable if you cancel the work before completion.
  • Once your check clears, the clock starts ticking.
  • You will need be available for at least 3 sittings. In the event you are not within 90 miles of my home or cannot come to my home and sit, you will be charged additional fees for my traveling time and room and board if it is required.
  • Prior to the sittings you will provide me with a front, back, left and right view of the subject as you wish it to be posed. It helps if the subject is wearing the clothing you wish the likeness to be sculpted in.
  • After 1 week I will finish a dozen sketches of the subject and send you copies of the sketches for approval.
  • After you approve the sketches, I will start sculpting.
  • Images will be taken of the finished sculpture or you can visit my home and do a one hour viewing of the subject for the purposes of approving it.
  • After the initial sculpture is approved I will create the master mold and 11 masters.
  • I will retain one figure from the 11 masters for my own records and to do a test painting.
  • Once you approve the test painting, I will either paint another just as the test or paint another with another paint scheme.
  • You will direct me as to color of clothing, hair and complexition before painting begins.
  • When you have 2 painted pieces of your approval, you will be sent those two figures and 8 unpainted figures. I will retain any additional figures that were painted during the selection process for my own records.
  • The final figures will be shipped to you after your final invoice clears the bank.
